Day 10
End of the journey

Pastor Commentaries,

Mary and Joseph had finally arrived in Bethlehem.  It would have been a long and difficult trip:  there simply wouldn’t be a way to avoid that.  But they had arrived to their destination.  They were exactly where they were supposed to be.

As much as life is about the journey, there are times where we arrive at a point.  Put another way, there are a great many end points in life.  The end of a formal education, of single life, of life without kids, of mortgage payments, of time in a home, there are many ends.

As much as I believe, and attempt to practice, that is it about living in the moment, the ends are unavoidable.  There are certain destinations that most of us come to.

What is the ‘end’ on the horizon for you?  What destination are you about to arrive at?

Mary and Joseph reached the end of their journey probably with a mix of emotions:  relieved, tired, weary and excited.  They closed the book on the journey in anticipation of what lie ahead – the birth of Jesus.

As you reach your destination how will you bring the journey to a close?
