At sunset we often feel a calm and relief to the days end knowing that a hard days work has been done and tomorrow will bring new challenges and endless possibilities. When I thought of how to represent the Sundowner painting it became clear to me that the placement of the horse between earth and sky serves as a safe and tranquil environment, which we all seek at the end of the day.
