When in Virginia, I made a point to go to see both General Lee’s and Traveler’s tomb, as I have always loved the story of this magnificent horse during the Civil War. To have the honor of depicting him in the mosaic brings me full circle from my years growing up in Virginia, to visiting the College chapel where he lies.
