Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Lagmore Youth Project in Belfast, Northern Ireland where the Northern Ireland National Mural will be installed on April 17^th, 2024.

The Northern Ireland National Mural Mosaic is an expression of unity and connection among all those who have contributed to its creation throughout the Northern Ireland, United Kingdom and the throughout the World. By working together on this united piece of art, each participant has expressed their unique perspectives and experiences celebrating the vibrant colors and reflections of Northern Ireland.

Since 2003, Mural Mosaic has been creating art that celebrates unity and diversity through awe inspiring mosaic productions. Using the Mural Mosaic process invented by artist Lewis Lavoie, the mission of our work is to bring people together in a way that honors everyone’s unique perspectives and experiences. They have produced Mural Mosaics throughout North America and now with Global Roots, the World – inspiring viewers to recognize the beauty of our differences and come together in united work of art.

Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project is delighted to become part of the Belfast community, to have the opportunity to inspire artists and aspiring artists of the future with this remarkable mural. We hope that it will serve as a source of inspiration for those who view it, and that it will encourage them to explore their creative potential.

‘It is absolutely astounding to have the opportunity to bring this Global Roots Project, to Belfast and to the Colin Area of West Belfast.  

Facing the New Colin Connect transport hub, this new Mosaic art piece will truly connect this area to an amazing global movement of art. Having completed Art In The Park with young people, Lagmore Youth Project along with Belfast City Council Parks and felt it a natural fit to work toward bringing this national Mural Mosaic art piece “Wind” to Páirc Nua Chollan.

We are super excited to see art work on display in the heart of Colin from Artists from across the local area, across the Northern Ireland and throughout the world coming to life at this amazing new part of Belfast and will be the centre piece for thousands of visitors that will travel to see this unique work of art.

This area is connected with art throughout the years with murals telling many a story across the city.   This Mural Mosaic will tell a story of over a thousand works of art of those many people from young to old that have contributed to its success.’  Colm Fanning, Lagmore Youth Project
