A message from Lewis:

Our vision for Global Roots is to share to joy of painting and connection through the creation of an art piece that brings hundreds of us together over a shared experience.

Since 2003, communities, groups, businesses, charities and individuals have participated in Mural Mosaics.

We hope you enjoy the process of painting your tile! Let your creativity and hope for our tomorrows together flow through the subject and colors that you choose.

It is our privilege to have you join the Global Roots Project and we hope you have a wonderful experience (plus a whole lot of fun!) painting your tile(s) and connecting with participants from around the world

The Global Roots Project by Mural Mosaic aims to (Re)Connect the World. One painted tile, one tree, one community, one country at a time.

The purpose of this project is to (re)connect our communities, families and long distance loved ones through the joy and inspiration that bringing mosaic tiles together into one united piece of art.

While we can’t be in every country on every mural site, we can all create art virtually and enjoy sharing and connecting with one another.

Mural Mosaic creates Art that Awes and Inspires.

These information sheets are your reference for the color palette your tile is assigned AND the photograph sheet that your completed tile must be submitted on. DO NOT LOSE these very important Inserts!

Learn about the 80/20 rule and why it’s important!

You will paint any design that you like with. thegoal that the colors in your painting are a minimum 80% main palette color tones with a maximum of 20% other color ‘pops’ and highlights.

Paint Your Tile

Global Roots is a reconnection project aimed at everyone around the world as we reflect on our families, loved ones, experiences and hope for tomorrow.

You will decide what you’d like to paint on your canvas. Your painting will reflect an image of importance and meaning to you. Some examples are family, nature, landscapes, animals, and abstracts.

Submit Your Tile Via Email ONLY

Check out the VIDEO Instructions further down the page for tips and tricks to submit your tile in the best possible light and provide a good quality image for the mural.

Be SURE to submit your tile to the correct EMAIL for your mural! We’ve added quick links for each mural below👇

Our graphics team will review your tile photo and confirm receipt – please allow up to a week for a confirmation email as our team receives hundreds of tiles each week.

DO NOT SHIP your tile to us! All Tiles are reproduced from their photos for the final mural installation.

Share Your Tile!

We are currently active on Facebook and Instagram with plans to expand our social media reach as we grow. Click the buttons below to share your tile in our social community!

As you review the painting demos, we encourage you to ‘let go’ and enjoy the process!

Refer to your participant guide for FAQ’s and additional information about your palette colors and painting a tile that will fit into the final mural.

While there is an 80/20 rule, Lewis reminds everyone to use their creativity, relax into their painting time and really experience the joy of putting brush to tile.
