Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project is delighted to announce our collaboration with Cardiff Children’s Service in Cardiff, Wales where the Wales National Mural Mosaic will be installed on April 24^th, 2024.

The Wales National Mural Mosaic is a testament to the creative power of connection. Created by participants from Wales, throughout the United Kingdom and even the World who each painted their own unique expression, this collective art project showcases the beauty and diversity of our connections to one another. This collaborative work of art is a visual legacy reflecting that when we come together, we can create something truly special.

Since 2003, Mural Mosaic has been creating art that celebrates unity and diversity through awe inspiring mosaic productions. Using the Mural Mosaic process invented by artist Lewis Lavoie, the mission of our work is to bring people together in a way that honors everyone’s unique perspectives and experiences. We have produced Mural Mosaics throughout North America, inspiring viewers to recognize the beauty of our differences and come together in united work of art.

Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project is delighted to become part of the Cardiff community, to have the opportunity to inspire artists and aspiring artists of the future with this remarkable mural. We hope that it will serve as a source of inspiration for those who view it, and that it will encourage them to explore their creative potential.

‘Cardiff Children’s Services through its Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) Keeping and Staying SAFE project is delighted to be chosen as the Wales Connects project partner to work with Mural Mosaic through its Global Roots Project to engage young people from our YEF project area in this very exciting opportunity to be part of a mural art piece that will be located in the city in April. Global Roots’ passion is unity through diversity.  The Global Roots programmes aims to use the power of art and connection bringing communities together.   It’s about the roots of our communities, homes and families. Also, the roots of sharing, giving and connection.

The Keeping and Staying SAFE Project’s aims very much align with those of Global Roots and we see this collaboration as a catalyst for our young people and our partner organisations engagement as we launch our YEF Keeping and Staying SAFE project.  We very much look forward to this partnership with Mural Mosaic and the fantastic creative, expressive and inclusion opportunity it will offer up to our young people.’ Chris Davies, SAFE Service Manager at the Council

Each collaborative Mural Mosaic production invites people from communities everywhere to connect and celebrate their unity through their diverse expressions of art.
