Four hundred years ago, he was a high tech war machine, trained to protect a mounted cavalryman with a series of spectacular leaps, rears, and kicks called the “airs above the ground.” Today we enjoy him as a performer under the spotlights, his traditional war moves set to music in a breathtaking equine ballet. Depicted here are members of The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions [LINK: http://www.lipizzaner.com/], an American troupe of these rare and strikingly beautiful horses.
