The Native Americans had a bond with their horses, it was a life line for protection, food, transportation and a sign of prosperity. To own a horse was essential to their survival on the plains in the early day. It was often traded or stolen from another tribe. Today the natives still cherish their horses and are a huge part of their lives here in Montana. Creating this piece was a huge challenge as my board was very monochromatic and felt to me to have a nocturnal feeling to it. I was very honored to be a part of this huge project and can’t wait to see the end results.
