As a Mexican, I have Spanish heritage in every aspect of my life, there for I chose to portrait an Andalusian in transition. As with all gray horses they are born dark (black or bay) and become lighter each year as the gray process take place just as the painting shows with this young horse. Cortes brought Andalusian to America for his conquests and they have influenced some other breeds like the Lipizzaner and the Azteca which is now recognized as a Mexican breed. Andalusian has a gorgeous presence and elegance, with a great temperament and noble spirit. There are no ugly horses and each breed have their particular point to stand out. I just love them all!!
